How to Align a Heat Transfer Vinyl on a Baby Onesie?

Have you ever finished decorating a onesie only to be surprised that your vinyl design was not centered on your garment? We know how frustrating this can be. This simple error can cost you time and money every time a design is not perfectly aligned. Our team has put together a few tips on how to get a perfectly centered design each and every time.

There are many fancy tools you can use to get the exact center, but simply folding a onesie in half vertically will give you the true horizontal center.

After folding it vertically, iron or heat press the onesie for a few seconds.

Next, we fold it right under the sleeves horizontally to get the center. Make sure to iron or heat press the onesie for a few seconds to get a nice guideline.

After you have your vertical and horizontal guidelines on your onesie, we will move onto finding the center of your vinyl design.

Take your vinyl piece and fold it in half vertically. Then fold the sheet horizontally.

Doing this will give your vinyl sheet a guideline you can use to align your design to the onesie.
*We recommend cutting down your vinyl sheet into an even rectangle or square.

Line up the middle of your heat transfer vinyl sheet with the middle of your ones

Cover your vinyl sheet with paper and heat press it for 10 to 15 seconds.

Peel off the vinyl carrier sheet to reveal your perfectly center design.

We hope these simple tips will improve your vinyl heat transfer design. Do you have any questions? Post your question in the comment section below.
